Cynthia’s creative work spills beyond prose and teaching into liturgical and musical collaboration. Drawing on her training in medieval studies and sacred drama, she crafted a five-part libretto in 2004 for “The Passion,” an original Holy Week oratorio by her friend and colleague Ray Adams, resident conductor of the Aspen Choral Society. In this work, Cynthia re-voices the Passion story as a free, conscious self-offering of universal love rather than a drama of scapegoating or appeasement, opening a contemplative lens on Jesus’s Paschal mystery that remains strikingly fresh today. What follows gathers that libretto and its Holy Week reflections; over time, any additional stand‑alone writings by Cynthia from this period that are neither blog posts nor books will also find their home here.
