DESCRIPTION
We will embark on a journey of contemplation and action inspired by Mary’s role (and our own) as Theotokos–God-bearer.
In this sacred space, we will delve into the profound significance of reclaiming the Marian icon for our own lives, ranging from her historical dimensions as a prophet of God’s fierce compassion, and, in her later years, a contemplative elder or “holy crone,” to her cosmic dimensions as Black Madonna and Womb of Creation.
In this time of ecological collapse, we recognize the urgency of bringing the Divine Mother back into our lives, understanding that her presence is essential for nurturing our devotional hearts and guiding us towards a path of reverence and stewardship for all of creation.
Join us for this time of spiritual practice, teaching, and reflection as we draw on the poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins, the mysticism of Thomas Merton, Holy Scripture, and the writings of early saints, discovering Mary as a face of the God-birthing dimension of our own souls.
Please see Our Team page for more information about our facilitators.
