This retreat was recorded live October 5–9, 2025, at Sorrento Centre in British Columbia, Canada. In any moment, regardless of how significant or insignificant it may seem, we can offer ourselves as instruments and vessels through which worlds beyond may enter into this one:what several Wisdom traditions refer to as the mixtus orbis. Wisdom teacher Cynthia Bourgeault reminds us that the density of this world is not a mistake but an opportunity for the rough material of our lives to mingle with spiritual substances from beyond, creating something vital and transformative. Drawing on the teachings of Cynthia Bourgeault, G.I. Gurdjieff, and others, this Wisdom School led by Heather Ruce explores how listening for Wisdom rhythms can deepen our presence across our three centers of intelligence—intellectual, emotional, and body—so that we may learn to perceive and act in alignment with higher laws of the kingdom of heaven. The retreat focuses particularly on embodying this attunement through conscious relationships and cosmic servanthood. As this is a LIVE recording, you may notice some audio variability and background noise. Please note: the morning meditation and Gurdjieff movements on day 3 were missed in the recording. Heather Ruce, M.A., is a Wisdom spiritual director who companions individuals and facilitates Wisdom practice circles, retreats, and Wisdom Schools within the Christian Wisdom tradition. She offers teaching and guidance in Centering Prayer, Christian meditation, sacred chant, lectio divina, conscious work, and embodiment practices—all in service of waking up and putting on the mind of Christ.
