About

The Wisdom Path: Contemplative Practice and Evolving Consciousness was recorded live November 20–22, 2015, at Camp Pringle in Shawnigan Lake, BC, Canada. This purchase includes an MP3 audio download with a total running time of approximately 4 hours and 48 minutes. In this teaching, Matthew Wright explores how Jesus’ essential message—humanity’s calling to transformation in love and unity—was largely lost and is now re-emerging for our time. The Wisdom path calls us to bridge divine and earthly realities, allowing divine love to flow into our hearts and manifest in our being, actions, and relationships. This path is both inward and outward, personal and communal, contemplative and incarnational. Drawing on the Gospel of Thomas, the mystical theology of Raimon Panikkar, and the evolutionary vision of Teilhard de Chardin, Matthew situates the Christian Wisdom tradition within a lineage that continues to evolve alongside human consciousness. He also references earlier teachers such as Bede Griffiths to show how this tradition integrates heart-centred practice with a vision of divine-human unity. The retreat includes both teaching and practice. Alongside his talks, Matthew guides participants in contemplative exercises designed to cultivate heart awareness, presence, and openness to divine love. These practices ground the teaching in lived experience and invite transformation through direct encounter. As this is a LIVE recording, you may notice some audio variability and background noise, specifically a fire crackling. Matthew Wright is an Episcopal priest, writer, and retreat leader recognized for his work in Christian contemplative teaching and interspiritual dialogue. He integrates the Christian Wisdom tradition with insights from other faiths, evolutionary consciousness, and contemplative practice. *Image: John Darch / The Road to Whitendale
