Glastonbury Abbey welcomes the Rev. Matthew Wright, who will address the question, “Is Christianity on its death bed, or is it being transformed?” Focusing on three significant voices in the emergence of a renewed Wisdom Christianity, this retreat will examine the ways in which traditional doctrines like the Incarnation, Trinity, and Second Coming of Christ come alive as experiential and participatory realities within an evolutionary, Wisdom framework. A combination of teaching, chanting, and silent meditation will help guide retreat participants through this exploration, immersed in the rhythms of a Benedictine monastery.
The Rev. Matthew Wright is an Episcopal priest, writer, and retreat leader working to renew the Christian Wisdom tradition within a wider interspiritual framework. He serves as priest-in-charge at St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church in Woodstock, NY, and lives with his wife alongside the brothers of Holy Cross Monastery.
