Hosted by the Wisdom Centre, Matthew will explore the Gospel of Thomas over the course of four days, the 2000-year-old non-canonical text that features short sayings of Jesus (similar to kōans) which are often used today in the practice of lectio divina. Matthew will lead us through the ways in which Thomas can help reorient Christianity for a global, inter-spiritual age. Matthew will also refer to the Gospel of Mary Magdalene. The retreat will include teaching, periods of silent reflection, and time for contemplative prayer. There will also be a public event at St. Laurence Anglican Church on Friday, April 20 at 7:30 pm.
