MEETING THE MOMENT WITH LOVE:
Meister Eckhart’s Practices for Hard Times
with WARD BAUMAN
Fourteenth-century mystic Meister Eckhart speaks to us across time and space as we navigate illness, social unrest, and economic challenges reminiscent of his medieval world. This Lenten season, The Contemplative Society hosts an online event with guest teacher Ward Bauman, who will guide us through Meister Eckhart’s contemplative teachings and practices on suffering.
Ward Bauman is the former Director of the Episcopal House of Prayer, an Episcopal priest, and long-time teacher of interreligious contemplative paths. He lived in Iran for many years, where he studied both Sufism and Buddhism. Ward is the author of a cookbook, Sacred Food for Soulful Living, as well as The Anglican Rosary: Meditating with the Mystics, and co-authored The Luminous Gospels: Thomas, Mary Magdalene, and Philip with Cynthia Bourgeault and Lynn Bauman.
DATES: February 15 – 19. Participants of this event will gather online for approximately 2 hours a day for 5 days.
More details and event registration coming on January 25.
